Exploring Your Inner Child: A Journey to Inner Peace
Share
Entering 2025, I felt a profound change in my perspective about life. It was no longer enough to just stick to my comfort zone and follow the tried and tested paths. There was a growing desire within me to challenge myself and learn something new. After all, isn't life too short to be stuck doing the same things over and over again?
Music has always been a part of my life, a soothing backdrop to my everyday routines. So, it occurred to me, why not delve deeper into it? That was the moment I decided to learn to DJ. It was not just about learning a new skill, it was more about exploring a new facet of my creativity, to see what I was made of.
The first few lessons were a challenge, to say the least. Navigating the complex equipment, understanding the nuances of beats and rhythm, and integrating it all to create something harmonious was not easy. There were times when I was tempted to give up, to retreat to my cocoon of comfortable routines. But each setback only fueled my determination to master this new skill.
Over time, I found myself gradually improving. I began to understand the language of music, to appreciate its subtle tones and shifts. I found a sense of joy in the simplicity of just being in the moment with no obligated goal to meet.
Randomly learning to DJ in my 30's was a transformative experience. It was not just about mastering a new skill, but about challenging myself, about exploring the uncharted territories of my potential. Above all, it was a testament to the fact that it's never too late to embrace change, to learn, and to grow.
I say all this to say we often get so caught up in surviving life itself, we get lost in the simple action of just living it. When we were children the words stress, can't, too old and far many others I don't have time to list in this article were not even a blip on our radar. When I think back to those times, that's when many of us can probably agree that life was just, better. There is an unexplainable freedom in random dummy missions. When we become free so many other things come into play; confidence, strength, individuality, breakthroughs...I challenge you this upcoming month to find your inner child again and speak life into it. Play around with unimaginable ideas, and give action to them.
Until Next Time <3
